Today is my Lil Katkoot's birthday ..

Happy Birthday my little chikidee darling... "May Allah protect u all the way to Jannah.. Ameen" - my initial plan was to bring him to Bird Park, but the weather for the last few dayz put me off !!

The other day, coming back from New Year Eve early release (3pm), I was thinking of bringing him to watch "Alvin & The Chipmunks"... but all tickets were sold-out ! On New Year itself, we were at East-Coast beach for picnic. So, InsyaAllah.. later I will take half-day off today to catch the movie with him and hb... really hope we can get tickets !!

What can I 'cook' for him today ?... hhhmmppphh, this lil katkoot is one picky-eater !! Most of most, bring him to KFC coz he lurrrvvees the mash potato - yep ! only the mash potato.. the rest not really... haizzz :(

	Although the new year has been celebrated since prehistoric times, it was celebrated on the vernal equinox rather than what we now consider the first of the year. The Romans were the first to recognize New Years Day on January first. Rather than tie the day to some significant astronomical or agricultural event, in 153 BC the Romans selected it for civil reasons. It was the day after elections in which the newly elected assumed their positions. Years later, Julius Caesar wanted to change the date to a more logical date but that year, January 1, 45 BC was the date of a new moon. To change it would have been bad luck. He did, however, change the calendar system from the Egyptian solar calendar to the "Julian" calendar, named for Caesar. July, the month of Caesar's birth, was also named after him to recognize him for his calendar reform. Up unto 1582, Christian Europe continued to celebrate New Years Day on March 25. Pope Gregory XIII instituted additional calendar reforms bringing us the calendaring system of the day. The Gregorian calendar was adopted by Catholic countries immediately while the reformists, suspect of any papal policy, only adapted it after some time. Today most countries around the world have adopted this calendaring system. From primitive man to today, it has been recognized as a day in which rites were done to abolished the past so there could be a rejuvenation for the new year. Rituals included purgations, purifications, exorcisms, extinguishing and rekindling fires, masked processions (masks representing the dead), and other similar activities. Often exorcisms and purgations were performed with much noise as if to scare away the evil spirits. In China, Ying, the forces of light fought Yang, the forces of darkness with cymbals, noisemakers, and firecrackers. Early European-Americans adopted the New Year celebrations from their homelands. However, it was noted by early settlers that native Americans already honored News Years Day with their own customs. Their rituals coincided with those around the world including fires, explosions of evil spirits, and celebrations. Today many of the New Year celebrations actually begin with a countdown to the New Year on the evening prior. It is customary to kiss your sweetheart when the clock strikes midnight as one of the customs of these New Years Eve parties. New Year Resolutions is simply another way to wish away the past in exchange for hopes of the future. It is where the phrase "turning over a new leaf" originated. ========== Wallahu-alam .. to me, everyday is a new day... The moment I wakes up from my slumber and breathe the first morning air ..... Alhamdullillah.... "Alhamdullillah" with a resolution that today will be a better day, InsyaAllah... just to do at least One more better thing than yesterday.. towards my duty as a human (with Allah's blessings) and towards my duty to the Almighty Allah s.w.t. Therefore, when I go to bed I can again recite "Alhamdullillah for today" ........ declare my Shahadah and close my eyes with a smile...... InsyaAllah, tomorrow will greet me again in Health, Wealth and Happines and lots of Rahmah from Allah... Ameen. To All my friends out there... Sedih...sedih betul !!! Let me let my dissapointment out here, let me cry this visual tears of mine ...coz at home I must act "cool"... action lah... that it's all orite !!

Dont get me wrong, I am Not angry at anyone ... but MYSELF !! ... it's my fault .. I commit and now.. "boooo hoooooooo !!" Hwaaaaaaaaaaa !!

I've been waiting for this day, anticipating... best tau !! Not many will organise all ladies wedding party anymore... well we do have henna nights from time to time - it's a day to "let our hair down"... wooohoooo !! ... No Men ! No prying eyes !!...

I have an invitation at DownTown East this Saturday - 22nd December for a "All Ladies" wedding dinner party from a relative/friend ... I know my 'gang' will be there, we will hv so much fun !! ... MasyaAllah, even her mum & aunts are a fun bunch of gals !! Best kan.... kan !!????

But why ??... why ooohhh why ??...

The other day when my hb told me he wanted some friends over on Eid, I told him "No" .. but to invite them on Saturday instead - AND what's that DATE ????.... 22nd !!!!!!

Why didn't I checked the calendar, why I didn't open my invitation cards !!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... *Smack Head a million times* ........Astaghrafirullah... (cannot question why & why tau ;))

"Telajak perahu boleh tarek balek... telajak jemput orang, sedih tegolek-golek ...."... LOL !!!

When I told my hb upon discovering my *setupid* mistake of not checking ... he asked me "Then How ??" I (of course) hv to maintain my composure la... "Nevermind, no BIG deal... "... .......... tapi di dalam hati ku... sungguh lah sedih... sedih skali, remok... hancur harapan ... baju yg maner nak ku pakai pon telah bermain di kepaler... ingatkan bolehlah gelek-gelek, rupernyer dirumah ku harus berhempas-pulas !! LOL !!!!!

Takper.. Amal Jariah... Ader Hikmahnyer.... Kolek Pahaler... InsyaAllah... Ameen... ,,,,, tapi...still......... Hwaaaaaaa !!!.......I want to go for that Wedding !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Hwaaaa !!!......

December is supposed to be school holiday... but wohoo !! me too r having dayz outz ... neway, I also hv to clear my leave...

13 December - A day at the Zoo (Alhamdullillah, sunny day)

16 December - Looney Tunes day at Suntec City...

And more to come... MasyaAllah, eventhough we didn't go out of the country for a holiday.... my calender is packed activities till end of the year !!

.. and he's happy, Alhamdullillah...

Tommorow, I'll be on leave again.. and Friday... and next Friday.. and New Year Eve... InsyaAllah. Eventhough I can't affort to take one stretch leave ... it's already a WOHOOOO !!!!
